I need a little help again. I've run into a problem with backing up a movie. I've used DVDD w/AnyDVD, no problems there. Then I used DVD-Remake Pro (to remove ads, etc. then it created a new set of DVD files) no problems there. I tested the files using Power DVD and Media Player to test files first. The problem I had was that I used Recode 2 to encode and and save the the resulting files to an ISO image of which I then transferred that ISO image to my main machine that has my Plextor dvd burner in it to burn with. I Used Nero Burn Rom to open and burn the ISO movie file, but after that, the movie would not play in my DVD player nor would it play in my PC. This is the first time I've ever created a ISO to burn from. Did I do something wrong? If I decide to just re-encode the movie with Recode and just save the resulting files to my hard drive rather than creating an ISO, how do I burn those files? Usually I just have the process go straight through all the way to disc burn and have yet to have a problem, but I built a little machine just for movie backups that does not have a burner in it yet. So I just transefer the files/ISO to my main machine. Oh yeah, I'm using the latest version of Nero 7 Ultra Thanks for the help.
You can use DVD Decrypter/ImgBurn to burn the image. For DVD Decrypter, it's under [bold]Mode/ISO/Write[/bold]. If you prefer another way, you can use Daemon Tools to mount the image file and use Nero Express to burn the files.
Ok, but what can I use to burn the files if I don't creat a ISO file? What if I just create/re-encode the movie and save the files to my drive?! What would be a way to do burn them since they would already be re-encoded files?
If the files are stored in a VIDEO_TS folder, you can use Nero Burning ROM/Nero Express...pretty much any burning software that can burn dvd-video files...
Ok, I'll try that. I create a folder to keep the encoded files in and I call the folder what ever the movie name is. If I was to use just the buring rom...Do I just add the files like I normaly would if I was just making a compiled data cd? Could you tell me how I would burn the DVD files or do you know of a simple nero guide that covers that? I just don't want to make a bunch of coasters. Thanks for your help Thugs!
Assuming the movie is under 4.36 GBs, then use either Burning Rom or Nero Express. I prefer Nero Express, since it's easier to follow. Here's a handy little guide to help you. When you open up Nero Express, this is what you'll see. Then choose your dvd burner(s) that burns dvds... Since I have two dvd burners, I'm going have to decide to use which one. I'm just gonna go with the Lite-On, for my case... After you have chosen your burner, click on [bold]DVD-Video Files[/bold]: This area, will allow you to add dvd-compliant files (.bups, .ifos, etc.) On the right, click [bold]Add[/bold]: Now depending if you've used this before, Nero will bring you back to the last folder (if it still exists) you used, if not, it will bring you to somewhere. Now this is where you will search for your encoded movie files. Once found, select all by highlighting or pressing [bold]Ctrl + A[/bold] together. Click "Add" and then click "Finished." Now if the encoded dvd is under 4.36 GBs, then you'll be fine. Click "Next" Now this is the final page before Nero burns your movie for ya. You can choose your recording destination (if different than what you chose before), select write speed, disc name, whether to booktype to dvd-rom (under Options) that is if you are using DVD+R and your burner supports bitsetting/booktyping. Choose the lowest speed possible, even better at 4X if possible. *Note: use good media to burn your movie as it will last longer and minimizes "skipping", pixelation, read errors..
