I just bought an iPod video and part of the screen looks funny with the backlight off. When the backlight is on I only notice it at an angle... When the iPod is turned off it really looks weird, how do I fix it?

It's kinda hard to visualise something like that with the explanation you gave. If it is having a major effect on viewing quality, take it to your local apple retailer for some reassurance.

Well it looks kind of like a magnet was somewhere near the screen. It has a greenish-purple tint in some areas. I really hope this isnt serious.

I have a similar problem as of yesterday. The screen displays a purple/blue/green haze at the bottom and right of the screen, reminiscent of the oil slick damaged LCD. After 15-45 minutes the haze disappears and the screen appears normal. It's quite visible with the backlight on or off. I'm wondering if it's due to temperature changes -- both yesterday and today it happened right after I took the iPod from the house into the car. ???
