I've been downloading various programs to download movies on. Everytime I get one downloaded and try to go in it I get a message like this...
    C:\Documents and Settings\Melissa\Desktop\BitTornado-0.3.14a-w32install.exe is not a valid Win32 application
or, I am put threw setup everytime I click on it...what does this mean and how do I get on these programs to download movies???

Re-download whatever you trying to install ! It is most likely a corrupted download you have.

You got your answer there !

Downloading programs are considered a pain and a strain on many servers ; people running those servers sometimes will banned them or will throw random bytes in the cuts to discourage you from abusing their servers ! If you have a good broadband connection there is very little gain with those downloaders.
