Has anyone noticed all the wierd burning issues that have cropped up with Nero and many other burning softwares in the last month..???...personally I think what it "might" be is a windows update that was released recently...Security Update for Windows XP (KB912919) is my best guess...but I could be wrong....all I know is that my burner Plextor 716A (Firm 1.09 latest) suddenly became useless with any software and any media....then I did a repair on XP back to SP2...and boom all was well again...then I added all the updates and boom dead again...so the i added them two by two ( I was running out of test coasters to do one by one)...and it died again when i added the above update and one other update...the strange thing is that after doing another repair i added the above update "by itsself" and All Is Well now...wierd but absolutely related to a windows update...

P.S.. Nero 7.0.1.4 was my default software that I first noticed the problem on...going to 7.0.1.4b did not help...

You might want to check out Plextor.com for a new firmware. That might help. If that doesn't help, I would just back up your files and do a system restore or if you have a WINXP CD just format your hard drive and reinstall everything. That really helps. I do that once every 4-5 months. Really cleans up your system and keeps my computer running smoothly. Good luck.
