    hey
i have another lil project i wanna put Xbox, ps2 and GC in one nice small size plixiglass case :). Anyway this question is for peeps who took apart the GC and kinda hard for me to explain. you know how the gc is like in layers. the only thing that holds the motherboard to the (lil) cd rom drive thingy is a black male port go to a black female port of the motherboard. sry for that bad discription. but the port that holds the cd drive to the motherboard. anyway is there a cable or someway connect them two together without having one on top of each other like side by side.

    ----cd drive----
----motherboard- thats how it looks all put togehter wut i want to do is this
----cd drive---- ----motherboard---- (side by side)
i was thinking of soldering the connections with wires or something
thanks and sry for the bad pictures lol

the interface for the drive connecting to the motherboard is full of pins.

guess you can solder the wires to elongate the connection between the two with the use of cabling. but you have to watch for the resistance on the cables used, so watch the length of the cable. the resistance posed on the cable can influence the performanace of the cube. Remember, it was a nice clean short conenction before and you are elongating it to do the side to side thing you wish to do.

I think this is a diffcult mod to accomplish, why would you want to do that?

You know, the Xbox stuff is going to take up so much room it won't even be worth it.

I mean, the Xbox's DVD drive is big as the slim PS2...

    Totally not worth the effort...

But hey, if that's what you do for fun, then you've got a lot of "fun times" ahead of you.
