192.168.1.1 not working on firefox for mac os x

    someone told me to type that in to open ports for bittorrent on my imac, but it doesnt work. What do i do?

    try 192.168.2.1

    ok that one worked and it brought me to a setup page but i dont know what to do now

    reply with a screen shot so i know what to look at
    i will know where to go if you give me a screen shot because every router is dofferant

    I am unfamiliar with screenashots. I went to Apples Grap application and have a screenshot of what i need, but i dont know how to insert it into the afterdawn forum.

    Your gonna wanna look for NAT which can open the ports, since its a mac i dont know. Just click on some of them and wait till you find the one that has port opening

    ok thats not seeming to work. Is there anyway I can make bittorrent run faster if I am plugged directly into my DSL modem that is plugged into the wall? Im not using wireless, but my speeds arent above 5kb/s.

    make sure the port is open to the port that bit torrent uses.

    but how do i find my port with a direct connection? that page doesnt work anymore (192.168.2.1) because it deals with router settings, correct?

    going to 192.168.2.1 is the router settings look for NAT and opne the bit torrent port.

    what is NAT? where do i find it?

    Click on Virtual Server and if you see port forwarding setup it up there

    where am i supposed to be looking for that at? 192.168.2.1 doesnt work anymore becuase airport is off, im not on he router anymore, im trying to make the direct conection faster
