Need some thoughts and direction. Hp 754n computer When I power on the computer goes through setup and then shuts down after the message " System fan failure, Please service immediately" ,System will shut down in 5 seconds" System then shuts down. Rebooting into the bios shows rpm of system fan to be 1100-1200rpm and cpu fan to be 0 rpm. Both the fan in the back of the tower and in the Power Supply (HiPro HP A2027F3)are running while I'm in bios. I would guess from what I can find that the fan in the PS is the problem although it appears to be functioning. Am I on the right track? If it is the fan in the PS (200w) I would like to upgrade to a compatible PS (300w or better) with better cooling? Any direction would be appreciated.
No it's ya cpu fan that's bad. Open up the case and confirm if the cpu is running, but at 0 I doubt it. So time for a new fan or heatsink/fan combo.:>
No fans on the motherboard/heat sink? The case fan directs air through a duct to the heat-sink. Only two fans I can locate are on the case and in the PS
