I recently got a new burner(external Benq 1655) I usually use dvd shrink and burn with DVD Decrypter. I want to start booktype to dvd-rom when making backups of dvd movies. I set the booktype to dvd-rom in DVD Decrypter just before starting the burn. Both dvd's I copied came out great like always, but they're still showing up as DVD+R's. I must be doing something wrong but don't know what. Any help?
Check the booktype with this free utility http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ Also It would be easier to use the benq booktype management utility to automatically booktype all your dvd+r's to dvd-rom. You should be able to download it for free on the benq website.
I ran a disc through DVD Identifier and it said the disc & booktype are [DVD+R]-[DVD-ROM]. So that means it's booktyped to DVD-ROM, right? If so, thanks Mort81.
Yes. Here's a link to the benq booktype management utility if you want to give it a try. http://support.benq.com/front/BenqM...langu=null&ops=2756&GenMenu=&RootId=undefined I prefer it over using dvdd to set booktype to dvd-rom.
Dvd decrypter shows my booktyped backups at Dvd+r for some reason. Dvd identifier and dvdinfopro will show you if they are booktyped. Q-suite 2.0 is a nice program to booktype. Also handy for getting the latest firmware update there.
DVDD shows DVD+R for me also. DVD Identifier shows DVD-ROM. Thanks to evryone at AfterDawn I think I have worked out all my bugs when it comes to burning movies/games. You all are great. Without AD I might still be lost. I thank you now and in advance for all the help.
