    Hello,

I've been backing up dvds for a year now using dvdxcopy platinum, dvdshrink and clonedvd. Also, I've used different media and different burners. I've noticed that whenever I use dvdxcopy, the dvd always comes out perfect. However, whenever I use shrink or clone, the last 1/3 of the movie always seem to jerk and pixalize when played in various dvd players except LG. Is it because xcopy has a better compression engine? Again, this happens no matter the burner, the media or computer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe your problem probably lies in the brand of media you are using. DvdXcopy is compressing your file more so it is not burning as close to the edge of the disk thus you will not get the jerking and pixilating. You can remedy this in one of two ways. first always but quality media and second in Shrink go to your preferances and change the target size to 4300 mb this will keep you from going to the edge of the disk.

    cheers
