I used to create .avi files on my computer all the time using a pluther of different programs - however, i stopped for a few monthes and now that i have started again, nothing works. All of the programs write the files, but when i try to open the files, nothing can read the format. When I took a look at the file in a hex editor, I found that the files were missing any type of header, and sometimes this space was filled with random junk relating to things that had just been used and in memory. Also, I know that it is a windows program, because i have 1 program that works, and it never calls to windows (its a dos prog - doesn't use diff codecs - just its own)... any help would be appreciated
