I have a 1.2 gig AMD CPU with 1 gig Ram, 300 gig hard drive, 256 megs ram on my video card and a sony dvd rw dru-810a burner and use windows XP PRO service pack two. My hard drive and burner are on seperate channels. I upload my home movies from my digital camcorder to my hardrive useing a firewire port. I also download video clips to the hardrive and desire to burn them all to dvd disc. My problem is when I am done with my setting everything up and I hit burn my CPU useage goes to 100% and stays there and when I tried to play the dvd the video was not insync with the audio or everything was choppy. Does anyone know how I can fix this? It is awefully frustrating.
If you like to give this a try it may help Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To Check your Paging File, go into your control panel, then click on System, then go to the Advanced Tab, and Under “Performance” click “Settings” then the Advanced Tab . On the Bottom you should see “Virtual Memory” and a value. This is the value that must be at least as large as how much memory is in your system. If the Virtual Memory Value is smaller than your system memory, click Change and change the Min Virtual Memory to a number that is greater than your total system memory, then click “Set” and Reboot. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Make sure you're virus and spyware free. These could be running in memory and could use a lot of your system's resources. Also, you could try defragmenting your hard drive, try safely disabling running processes that are not need to run when you burn your disc, and avoid multi-tasking...
I defraged the system but nothing changed. I checked the process and it says 99%idle that is until I hit burn and nero sends the cpu to 100% havent found any virus or spyware but I am changeing the VM. I had it set for my old RAM and not the 1 gig I installed. I hope it works.
I have tried to change everything but nothing has made a difference. Virtual mem., no spyware or virus and the pc is only using what it needs but nero is still using 100% cpu during burns. Any more clues?
If yours is like mine, it rips into avi format. Alot of people are having issues with audio sync using Nero (any version) to transcode avi's I have seen alot of complaints about this. It usually turns out to be the media. Some dvd players/burners/roms just don't like certain discs. As for the 100% cpu usage... Make sure you are only running the programs essential for the os and the nero. Other than that, make sure to disable the screen saver, and let the burn run it's course. If you can see that the cpu usage is jumping up to 100%, then you are running task manager (or another unessential monitoring program) and a part of that cpu usage is for that program as well.
