    WinXP Pro SP2, 3 Port Ultra PCI 1394 Firewire Card (2 Ext/1 Int) (ULT31342)
firewire PCI card and 6 pin to 4 pin cable not recognizing my
    Panasonic GS50 dv camera.
PC device manager sees the firewire card but nothing happens after making
the camera to PC connection via the firewire cable. Already replaced cable and tried a different dv camera but got same result. Where should I go from here?

If you have the same issue with different camcorder and different cables and you can see the card properly in the device manager, you probably have a defective Firewire card or it is not pushed in properly in the PCI slot...

Already pulled card and looking for a replacement. . . I've seen other posts stating that XP SP2 does not like Agere (Lucent) 1394 chipsets which was on my 1394 card... Supposedly the TI chipset from
Texas Instruments is a better choice. . .Guess I'll start looking for one of those. . .
