    Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if I could get some input on what type/name brand of a dvd burner would be suggested to purchase. Not looking to spend alot of money but want something reliable also. Just looking to backup some movies.
    Thanks

Newegg.com for best prices - around $40 + shipping for many brands of burner incl, NEC, Pioneer, Liteon, BenQ all within a couple of dollars of each other. Blck, beige, or silver colors available. Check the specs, features, and prices. Then decide. Dealer is reputable, cheap, fast shipping for less than $5. Check web site for daily sales.

    Thanks StanH1000,
Could I possibly ask one more thing. What would be good specs to look for on a dvd burner? I have never purchased one before and I really don't know alot about the technical side of the computer. I don't know whether to buy one that says dual burner (things like that).
    Thanks again

NEC, Pioneer, Liteon, BenQ all are good choices.
Personal preference counts as much as anything. The Liteon and BenQ burners can Booktype DVD+R disks to DVD-Rom whereas NEC and Pioneer require a modified, non factory firmware patch to do this.. If you use DVD-R this is not important, but it would increase the compatibility for DVD+r discs on more players. The new BenQ1650 should be out this month.
