i am having trouble with burning vids that i've downloaded to a dvd using NERO 6 express. i'm useing lime wire to download vids. i got one dvd to work but it will only play on my PC and not in my dvd player, and i have never had any problems with it playing back up dvds before. does any body know what i might be doing wrong, or what i could do that will work, or even a good walk through. thanks to all dvd player - philips -book says it will play all dvd types dvd - dvd-r 4.7 memorex have always worked with dvd to dvd also i was wondering what nero icon/program to use
There is an easy to follow guide in my sig, by alkohol, have a look at it. You are using possibly the WORST brand of media there is, Memorex, they are the cause of MOST problems when trying to burn. Get yourself some Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, Memorex will always cause problems.
i tryed this but it still didn't work but i tryed to convert stright to the dvd and not the hard drive, but i also noticed that i moved the vid from limewire to MY VIDEOS in my documents, but the thing is that in limewire the vid is AVI and in my videos it looks to be MP3. do u think that this could be a prob.
Unless you have converted the files since you d/l from limewire then they should still be in AVI format. Dispose of those Memorex, they're rubbish.
Get yourself a program that will convert from AVI to DVD such as WinAVI Video Converter, or ConvertXToDVD from VSO. Convert the video to DVD format. Then buy some decent media as you've been already told, they may be OK today but came back in a few months and let us know if they still work. THEN burn
@umug, AVI files need not to be converted if you adopt the method as described by alkohol, which is in my sig. I have been doing my d/l movies in this fashion for quite some time with great success. I have just trialled the new VSO release ConvertX and found it an excellent prog however he has already a copy of Nero, hence recommendation to use Nero.
@gwendolin, many thanks for pointing that out to me, I wasn't aware that was possible. That's something else new that I've learnt from here. I'll try it out next burn and see how I go
