    Hello Spear.
Humm... Did you accidentally hit the cancel button or something?
This is really confusing... What other apps can you use instead of that one? Nero can't be beaten with those AVIs.

and i dnt accidently hit the abort butto because i dont press anything.

Haven't you got faith on me to help you? lolol

Use Nero Vision Express. follow this guide:
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946

Also, could you give us details on RAM, HDD space etc? Or just a Nero Log will be just as fine.

Oh sorry, well if you bring a Nero burn log, i'll be able to see your pc's guts... That normally happens if your resources are scarse.
Just edit out your serial. (starts with 1Axxx)

    ok it didnt work.
please could you tell me what serial?

The serial number for your program is at the top of the log, if it is a retail version and not a trial. That is what you need to X out. As permiggs pointed out, (starts with 1Axxx), or something along those lines. You don't want to give the world a free copy of the program do you. Besides, that's against the rules. ;)

@spear986...... you originally used DivxToDVD which converted the files to DVD format...... check your settings. Make sure you use good quality media.... and I have a feeling that it was your settings in DivxToDVD that stopped recording or your media was not good! that's why it stopped right away at 0.2% meaning it couldn't recognize or format the media for writing! that's a good possiblity! I could be wrong..... and also...... ConvertXtoDVD is now out (replaces DivxToDVD) go get your free version and try that (it will have a watermark on the output but it should be a test to find out if everything is ok). VSO has some great software!

@Brobear....... I am using VSO software and I bought a gold membership so I get all of VSO's software and I haven't found anything wrong to yell at them or curse them yet! It does everything that they say it does:
    hahahha ;-)

Now if you can just marry it. LOL

The only fault I hold to VSO is that it is strict on compliance, which is an issue on burning some backups. I've done a few where structural protection creeped through and caused compliance issues which the burning software detected. In such a case, VSO refuses the burn and Nero questions the burn, but will allow it. Only a rare instance, but why keep 2 burning suites loaded? It's hard to beat VSO conversion software. So it's good stuff over all, if the user is happy, no reason in the world to change. Though WinAVI Video Converter is a handy app for conversions and Nero Vision isn't too bad.

    @Brobear
That is my opinion about the Nero package, i prefer it over anything. If Nero can do it, then it'll do it...

As for Win Avi, IMVHO isn't worth having... It's the most unreliable convertion app i have worked with. In 10 jobs it will do an absolute cracker in 2, the rest will be bugged...

LOL I only got it for doing a couple of jobs and haven't done 10 yet. You have more experience. However, I like the ease of operation and when it works, it is easy.

Well i tried a lot more than 10... It got me so frustrated so many times! Then i decided to get to know Nero properly... LOL (We were all n00bs at some point! LOL)

I personally think the DivXToDVD is better than Nero for most conversions. It should be, it's a more specialized app and isn't in a suite like the CopyToDVD. I'm going to get ConvertXtoDVD to see if it's an improvement or just a new package. If it's just as good, it's worth the price.

well Brobear..... ConvertXtoDVD is just as good and I think it's even better than DivxtoDVD! it just got updated, too! I haven't had any bugs with it but they say it's fixed! I know it's faster, which is a plus!

Remind me in about a week. I've got a bunch of little projects going and a couple of forums to keep up with. Also, point me to a couple of AVI files you would like to see it run on.

Looks like IHoe beat me to an evaluation. I noticed in parentheses that VSO lists the program as aka DivXtoDVD. In other words, it's a name change along with an update or upgrade, whichever way you want to look at it. Looks like more, faster, better. Well, faster anyway. It came out with a few minor bugs and they're fine tuning it. It's a new release and they've already given it an update.
