I need some help with my windows xp. Sometimes when I start up my computer my cd-rom and cd-r are located and work fine, but other times the don't even appear as being installed. It really boggles my mind and if anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I think windows xp removes my cd drives when it has a problem reading the disks. Any advice would help out a lot.

Windows XP itself does not utilize ASPI drives.

    1) Check your drives connections.
    2) Unistall the drive from Windows manually and then re-install
