Ok WTF is the http://altfarm.mediaplex.com shit that been messing with me for the past 3 or 4 days? it seems my ebay links from stuff I am biding on have been changed to http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/ the CMs are saposed to be CGI,I have kav prsonal pro anti virus and updated spybot what is this and how to I remove it I have been trying to remove proseces with hijack this but all dont sem to be it...what am I missing?
I have had this same problem today. I have ran both adaware and spybot, but have not got this problem fixed. Any ideas?
It seems to be Ebay has made a deal with mediaplex to run thier email system or soemthign but media plex is a knowen data trackign company that has made some trojins.... Firefox stops at the mediaplex page wont load and such IE went thru it ignoreing the spyware threat and Opera seemd to just skip the mediplex thign alltoather 0-o Scanspyware helped me remove all the bad cookies and any apps that Spy bot and Kav personal pro missed. If you have boardband go to trend micros page and let it scan your system they are the most up to date on spyware. if you have soemthign that you cant get rid off I might can help but I'll have to PM you sicne I dun want to ge tthe forums in trouble :3 In the end they have changed thier email setup and it seems it has glitchs altho I would call data trackign a glitch >> its gotten so bad I dont use the ebay emials anymore when I see one I just go to Ebays site 0-o Since then I have formated and reinstalled my comp FF now passes thru the mediaplex site like nohting happened....I need to reinstall soem of my exsentions and get that site blocker back for FF IE you can block sites. Also if you want a list of desent free ware AV and anti spyware I can give you my old list of stuff it works for the msot part and if you have boardband you can alway use the online scanners that can find more than the free stuff dose. Right now I would kill for a cookie program that allows cookies to be made for only the sites I list and then allow seesion cookies for the sites I want and nuke the rest. I aint the brightest bulb around but I can feel my way in the dark need anyhtign ask I can try and help *L*
I think I have the same problem, BUT - since English is the default language in this country, will you please learn to spell correctly? Some of the stuff you've written is indecipherable. And punctuation just makes it easier for others to figure out what the hell you're trying to say. Now that I've got that off my chest, I've probably pissed off everyone else that might possibly have an answer for this problem. I dont mind the occasional boot to the head about my grammar its the constant flaming by noobs or thos that love to flame that pisses me off >< Ebay had joined with Altfarm to gather statistics for them thats why all the CM ebay links fail because altfarm is a known adware/spyware company. Why ebay chose them I dont know but they did and this leads to headaches one being firefox not able to be redirected from the CM/Altfarm site to the ebay page. Ebay email I find it odd that only some of my Ebay messages/emails have the altfarm CM links in them and thos that have the CM links Thunderbird marks as possible scams. About Blocking Pages IE and Opera seem to redirect ok from the CM links if they give away info I dotn know even if you tell IE to block the altfarm page it will still hit it and be redirected,how ever when Firefox blocks the page it stops right on it thus screwing up the usefullness of any ebay email with the CM links. Bad Cookies When I ran Scanspyware (that is the name of it) it found some bad cookies and some Altfarm/Mediaplex data minner/tracker/spyware in order to remove the bad cookies I had to crack the program but frankly you can use cookie monster and remove all cookies not just the bad ones altho I would love to get my hands on a cookie program that let me set it to ok some cookies to session a few others and deny the rest.
