multi tasking problems

    i have a celeron d processor 2.53ghz and 1256 of ram and the problem im getting is that when ever im copying files from my cd every thing slows down. could it be a driver issiue??

    what is your system performance at before burning?

    You have a Celeron.....that is the problem. It is only ment to handle one program at a time. A normal CPU is ment to take 8 lanes of traffic but a celeron takes those 8 and narrows it to 4. Hence why it is recomended to be used as a web browser or single app. processor.

    the only difference between a true p4 & a celeron version is the amount of ram cache on the cpu. 1st p4 celerons had 128k cache compared to a p4 having 512k. the celeron d has 256k cache & a prescott dye.

    Sorry, I was mislead on this one. I thought that Celerons only condensed the work that a normal Intel did.

    im still having issues with my drive when ever i play any thing from that drive it play slow and choppy. i changed it for a dvd drive my friend gave me its brand new but still same issues when playing dvds

    in device manager under ide controllers, see what the dma is set as as in on or off.
