    DVDFAB Decrypter is the best FREE ripper at the moment, get it here http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm -- in addition, it updates regularly just to bypass/decrypt the latest protections from both RipGuard and ARccOS. Fengtao has done it again, a well job done.

    Fengtao is the main author behind DVDIdle Pro, DVDFAB Decrypter, DVD Region+CSS FREE and possibly DVD43 as well.

    Best of lucks and happy burning.

    thanks for the link to dvd fab decrypter. i still have a problem. i'm trying to burn "flight plan" and my file is too big to put on disc. i tried shrinking it with dvd shrink, but the program gives me a message that it has encountered an error and needs to close. am i doing something wrong? is there another program that can shrink the file for me?

    @kelliebe

    If it's too big, then that's the latest from ARccOS, so you'll need to run your already ripped VIDEO_TS.IFO file of FLIGHTPLAN from DVDFAB Decrypter through VobBlanker 2.1.0.0, let VobBlanker "PROCESS" and filter out any left over junks, craps, fake/dummy cells, pgcs or sectors, then you can "load/import" into DVD Shrink and transcode as your usual process.

    For more info on how to use DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker 2.1.0.0, go here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/293994 (I did this basic guide specifically for THE FOG because it's got the latest ARccOS encryptions). Basically, you can just use my guide for "FLIGHTPLAN" instead of THE FOG -- all you need to do is change the movie names that's all. I've done tons of new release movies using my "VobBlanker method combo DVDFAB Decrypter" and it has NEVER FAILED me. It has worked 100% for FLIGHTPLAN, THE CAVE, THE FOG, Madagascar, Valiant, The Great Raid, Brothers Grimm, Sky High, Wedding Crashers, The Man, Half Light, Red Eye, Dark Water, Lord of War, Legend of Zorro, etc.

    **NOTE: extremely important here; DON'T RUN AnyDVD or DVD43 in the background when you ripped the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.0 or you need to TURN OFF AnyDVD or DVD43 when you "PROCESS" your ripped VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 because DVD43 or AnyDVD will only conflict with VobBlanker and you'll end up with some issues like smaller files (GB), unsynchronize vob, some scenes are missing, etc.

    Good luck!!

    An easy method I've found is using FixVTS, similar to VobBlanker. Open the ripped file, open FixVTS, make sure boxes are unchecked on FixVTS, drag the Video_TS VOB onto the FixVTS, click Full DVD and wait a few minutes to the processed files. Try recording the new Video_TS folder. You get a backup of the original left in the folder, so you need twice the space of the original file. I cut and paste the backup out of the folder when I'm doing the burn.

    Yes, I've used both FixVTS in combo with PgcEdit and VobBlanker and I agree that they're extremely powerful, plus they're both FREE. They can just process and filter out craps/junks flawlessly.

    The only reason I prefer VobBlanker is that I can "blank out" those 2 annoying fbi warnings, plus any trailers/previews or any scenes that I don't want to keep that's all. Both FixVTS and VobBlanker are great in my opinion -- I honestly think that Newbies should have these 2 wonderful programs, if he/she doesn't have the latest updates from AnyDVD.

    Cheers!

    ok, i went to the link you gave me for vobblanker and went through the process of extracting the compressed files. my computer told me it was successful but i don't have the program on my computer. what am i doing wrong? besides being a dummy. i need a step by step for this, if someone has the time.

    kelliebe - Follow alkohol and brobear's advice and you won't go wrong. They are two of the most knowledgable posters in this forum.

    Also, somthing I've found to be handy. Whenever you're reading the forum, if you come across a alkohol guide - bookmark it! Sometime or another, you'll need it.
