Need help! When trying to backup "Brothers Grimm", I encountered an error I have never seen before. I used DVDFabDecrypter to rip the movie and then tried to use DVD Shrink to burn to a blank DVD. Each time, I keep getting a burn error titled: "Error:\nCannot connect TRF" I tried using VOBBlanker and kept getting the same error message. I tried DVD Decrypter and still the same. I even updated Nero to the latest version. I check my burner and burned a CD without any problems. Below is the entire error message (sorry for the length of it):

I've tried everything in my small brain that I can think of. Maybe someone on here with more smarts than me can figure this thing out. If you can, I would be greatly appreciative.

You need edit your Nero serial before someone hacked it and use it for free. To edit, click on that little "pencil & paper icon" on the right hand inside that "orange/yellow like" bar and edit your serial, then click SAVE.

We have the same dvd burner, however, you need to update your firmware. It's latest is BYX5, go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1917 and get it to run and updates the firmware. Firmware helps to enhances media compatibility and burning performances.

2 of your DMA has turned into Off mode or PIO mode. You need to enable them back On. Go here for more info, http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues

To be honest, I have no comment and or I have no idea what this means. I've been burning with Nero for the last 5 years and I've never seen/experienced this kind of error before.

You need to wipe out Roxio from your system, it is evident that Roxio doesn't get along with Nero and therefore it is likely to cause your burning into "coasters". Go here http://www.downloadjunction.com/product/store/15199 and get Roxio Zapper, run it to completely clean/wipe out Roxio from your system. Now try to back up with some high quality media like; (1) Taiyo Yuden, (2) Verbatim "advanced azo or datalife plus" (3) Maxell (made in japan by Hitachi).

    Good luck!!

Started to make a comment, but your post seems to have everything under control.

Thanks for all of your help. I did as you suggested with the same overall result. Having exhausted everything I knew, I uninstall the newer version of Nero and reinstalled Nero 6 Suite, which was the programming that had been packaged with my burner. The problem seems to have corrected itself, although I do not know for how long. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions.

In regards to your suggestion of editing my serial number, I am at a loss. I have found no icons in Nero that you have described. I am using Nero 6 Suite with StartSmart mostly. Can you navigate from there? Thanks again.

    FFsp42 ,
The TRF error you got is causing problems throughout the forums. It is associated w/ the version 6.6.1.4. If you uninstall 6.6.1.4 then re-install the older versions after using Nero's clean tools you should be OK. I hope they correct it. You can upgrade to 6.6.0.18 if you want to.

To remove your serial number go to your first post in this thread and to the right you will see an edit button. Click on that and then edit out the serial number.
