    hi there!

just a small problem i wondered if anyone had encountered..
i have been converting a tv series and burning them to disc,
and using nero , i have previously shrunk 5 episodes to fit
on one disk. the episodes all shrunk down to approx 4 gig
which was cool. quality was still all good..

but now trying to do the next 5 episodes, they have to be shrunk twice, meaning they come out at 3 gig, and the pictures not nearly as good.

the start files are all the same size, i just cant figure out what i'm doing differently.. any clues??

or failing that can any one name a good programme for making a dvd with menu's ? i can convert the episodes with divx to dvd , but then can only burn them to disc with out a selection menu..?

any help would be much appreciated..
    thanks in advance people...

What software are you using to shrink the files or convert them.

As suggested in many other threads...
DVD Shrink and DVDFab Decrypter are good programs for backing up your dvd collection.

i'm using nero to do the whole project..

am familiar with dvd and fab decrypter, and dvd shrink.. these are not suitable programmes for what i am trying to do..

i have several episodes of a series in my harddrive , as divx's i beleive..

i can convert them individually with vso divx to dvd and burn them all ok, but its a waste od discs.. i'd like to put them , 5 if poss episodes on one disc..

have used nero for this already but as i said previously , now it seems to shrink them too much .. ? and comresses 5 episodes to just 3 gig rather than 4. which results in loss of quality..

if i converted them all with divx to dvd, they all come out with the same name.. of number if you know what i mean..
how can i change this? and does anyone know of a programme that can make a dvd including a menu other than nero??

so i dont have to fast forward through all four episodes to get to the last one??

    ..
    thanks for any help ..

divx is a format, not a file extension. Are they avi, or mpeg?
to find out you can right click on the file, then left click properties in the drop down menu.

Did you change any settings in NeroVision? For example, under transcoding quality, if you change from High Quality to Standard or Long Play..., the resulting size will be different.I set to automatic. I use nero 6, and the way that is set up, Nero automatically adjusts the transcoding quality so no matter if I try to put 1 or 3,4 files, it will adjust the size to fit on a DVD SL. I converted two 1-1/2 hr. movies, about 850MB each, and both fit on a single DVD, and I can say the quality on TV is as good as the quality of the original downloaded files.

    ok,,,

i upgraded to nero 7 last night and set it off again and hey presto it worked excellent, it squeezed five episodes onto one disc as before...

i'm sorry to ask , but i have 2 further questions...
firstly why does my computer take ten hours to do this??
is it my graphics card?? its only a very small one.. in my lap top..

and scondly, the lip synch is all out... by a few seconds..
but wasn't on the previous set of episodes..
the origionals are all ok, and i checked the converted files in nero and found theat they are out of synch too...

any ideas ?? thanks in advance ...
