then the copy b star.000, etc...

I tried this a few times with fifa 06 but everytime i do it it says invalid ps2 game, im using swap magic v3.6,I'm burning on a computer essentials brand disk which i use bcuz it's cheap(cant be the disk bcuz it's worked b4) im burning the img at 1x in DVD Decrypter. I use ur exact steps:
1) COPY THE PS2 GAME DVD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE AS AN ISO IMAGE.
a)OPEN DVD Decrypter.
b)IN THE DESTINATION AREA, CLICK ON THE FOLDER ICON TO CHOOSE BOTH A NAME AND A STORAGE LOCATION FOR THE ISO IMAGE.
c)CLICK ON MODE > ISO > READ.
d)CLICK ON THE DVD ICON TO START THE PROCESS.
e)WAIT UNTIL THE PROCESS IS FINISHED THEN CLOSE DECRYPTER AND GO TO STEP 2.
-when i do that it comes out in a iso file (4.37gb) and a mds file(5 kb)-
2) EXTRACT THE FILES FROM THE ISO IMAGE.
a) CREATE A NEW FOLDER ON YOUR HARD DRIVE TO STORE THE
EXTRACTED FILES.
b) OPEN ISO BUSTER AND CLICK ON FILE > OPEN IMAGE FILE.
c) NAVIGATE TO THE ISO FILE CREATED IN STEP 1 AND CLICK ON “OPEN”.
d) HOLD THE CONTROL KEY ON YOUR KEYBOARD AND LEFT CLICK
EVERY FILE AND FOLDER IN THE LIST.
e) ONCE ALL THE FILES ARE HIGHLIGHTED, RIGHT CLICK ON ONE OF THEM AND CLICK ON “EXTRACT OBJECTS”.
f) NAVIGATE TO THE NEW FOLDER THAT YOU CREATED ON YOUR
HARD DRIVE AND CLICK “OK”.
g) WAIT FOR THE PROCESS TO FINISH THEN CLOSE ISOBUSTER.
3) CONVERT THE EXTRACTED FILES INTO 2 BIN FILES.
a) OPEN CDVDGEN.
b) SELECT “CREATE NEW PROJECT” AND THEN SELECT “DVD-ROM
MASTER DISC”. DRAG CDVDGEN TO THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR
SCREEN.
c) NAVIGATE TO THE FOLDER THAT YOU CREATED ON YOUR HARD
DRIVE BACK IN STEP 2 AND OPEN IT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR SCREEN.
d) SET THE WIDTH OF THAT WINDOW SO THAT IT IS ONLY 1 FILE WIDE. THIS WILL PLACE THE FILES INTO THE SAME ORDER AS THEY WERE ON THE GAME DISK BUT YOU SHOULD CHECK THEM FOR CORRECT ORDER JUST IN CASE.
e) CLICK ON EDIT > SELECT ALL.
f) DRAG ALL THE FILES INTO THE RIGHT SIDE OF CDVDGEN.
g) LOOK FOR A SLUS OR SLES FILE AND WRITE DOWN THE FULL NAME AND THEN CLICK ON THE “VOLUME” TAB IN CDVDGEN.
h)TYPE SLUS OR SLES (WHICHEVER YOUR FILE NAME IS) INTO THE 1ST BOX NEAR "DISC NAME"
i) TYPE ALL OF THE NUMBERS FROM YOUR FILE NAME, WITHOUT THE PERIOD, INTO THE 2ND BOX.
j) TYPE PLAYSTATION FOR THE PRODUCER NAME AND SELECT THE APPROPRIATE LICENSE AREA.
k)CLICK ON "REC...".
l)SELECT YOUR DESIRED STORAGE LOCATION AND NAME THE FILE STAR.IML
m)YOU WILL GET 2 ERRORS, JUST CLICK OK FOR BOTH.
(If you get one error message, then you have to download “WNASPI32.DLL” www.Nero.com/us/WNASPI32.DLL.html
and put it in your windows system 32 folder.
n)THE RECORDING SCREEN WILL POP UP, CLICK ON FILE > EXPORT IMAGE AND SAVE IT ON ONE OF YOUR HARD DRIVES (NOT IN A FOLDER) NAME IT STAR.LST
o) WHEN IT'S FINISHED, YOU WILL HAVE 2 FILES NAMED STAR.000 AND STAR.001
p)CLOSE CDVDGEN AND GO TO STEP 4.
-for this step i had 3 files named star.000 star.001 star.002 and i also had star.LST-
4) MERGE THE .000 AND .001 FILES INTO A SINGLE ISO IMAGE.
THE EASIEST WAY TO MERGE THE FILES IS FROM A COMMAND SCREEN.
YOU WON'T HAVE TO INSTALL AN EXTRA PROGRAM THAT MAY NEED
EXTRA FILES TO WORK AND COME ON, ADMIT IT, DOS IS SO MUCH FUN!!
a)CLICK THE WINDOWS START BUTTON AND CLICK ON RUN.
b)TYPE CMD IN THE BOX AND HIT ENTER.
c)CHANGE THE DIRECTORY TO MATCH WHERE YOUR STAR.000 AND STAR.001
FILES ARE STORED.
EXAMPLE- IF THEY ARE ON THE C DRIVE, TYPE CD C:\ AND HIT ENTER.
IF THEY ARE ON ANOTHER DRIVE, TYPE THE DRIVE LETTER WITH A COLON AND HIT ENTER.
d)ONCE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT DIRECTORY-
TYPE COPY/B STAR.000 + STAR.001 STAR.ISO AND THEN HIT ENTER.
e)WHEN IT'S FINISHED YOU WILL HAVE A NEW ISO IMAGE NAMED STAR.ISO THAT YOU CAN NOW BURN IN STEP 5.
-i changed the directory to my c drive and typed COPY/B STAR.000 + STAR.001 + STAR.002 STAR.ISO and hit enter, when this was done i saw the iso file in my c drive-
5) BURN THE NEW ISO IMAGE ONTO A BLANK DVD.
USE YOUR FAVORITE DVD BURNING UTILITY TO BURN IT AT THE
SLOWEST SPEED.
-i burnt the iso image at 1x speed in DVD Decrypter-
please if your not too busy, help me out...
Thanx

I found a different and simpler way to get my fifa game to work, when i backed up my game by normally copying it it would not load past 75% when u would try to play a match, so i tried winning's way and i couldnt even start the game, so i searched around and found a simpler way in a different forum if any1 wants to try it:
1. open the image in isobuster, and drag all the files/folders into a new folder
2. then get nero burning rom(latest version),and select UDF/ISOoption,with "no multisession" ticked (this step is the most important)
2. then open the new folder where you put the files from isobuster, and drag and drop them over to the column in nero, dont worry about the order
then burn it in the slowest speed possible, and it works perfectly
good luck

Agreed. Every other game I've rebuilt using this method works fine. Matrix Path of Neo will boot, go to the matrix code running down the screen and freeze. I've tried with Swap Magic 2.0 and my new Swap Magic 3.6 both rebuilt and not rebuilt on Verbatim -R.
Only thing I haven't tried is burning at 1X.

Damn I really want a copy of Socom 3, but have no idea how to burn it. I read all those instructions that Winning posted and it looks like the guy knows his stuff, but for people like me I dont know what a bin file is or an iso file lol! I am not very good when it comes to computer lingo..obviously haha! Thats awesome that he knows all that stuff. If everything is step by step and comes up on screen and all I have to do is fill in the blanks then that would be awesome. Maybe I will just try it out and see if my comp doesnt explose.

I am trying to make A copy Need For Speed Most Wanted (NTSC). But when I burn the image it will play for A while. But during mid race it will say loading for about 5 or so seconds then resume. This is not normal and is something I have never encountered before. So I thought I would try this guide and see if it would work. Now I am about half way through the guide (I just extracted all of the contents of the iso) But the total amount of files but it is only 00.2 gig's smaller than the iso was originally. It is to my understanding that iso's are suppossed to be MUCH smaller when rebuilt. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? PS: the dvd's I used were TDK DVD+R at 2X speed I use the swap magic 3.6 disc with the slim PS2

i have a star.000 .001 .002 .003 file in my c:documents and settings/owner when i combined just star.000 and .001 it was so small i burned it to a cd as you probably figure not a valid ps2 disc using swap magic 3.6 do i have to combine all these and how do i type this in the cmd? why does the file get so small assuming im adding 3 estimated 1 gig each and 1 that is 350 kb why does it merge the iso to around 80000kb? also does DVD Decrypter do layer breaks meaning if im backing up a file size that is 5.95 gigs (50 cent bulletproof ps2)and i just buy a dual layer disc will it correctly burn the iso file to that disc with the correct layer break?? any help is greatly appreciated

@bulldog
well first of all you need to combine all the files(star.000,star.001 etc)or yor backup wont work hence your taking files from it.Second if the game fitted on the CD you would need to patch it using DVDScanlite or sumthin for it to work since games have DVD media checks that detect if its on the original media or not.Third, for games bigger than 4.35GB you NEED TO REBUILD THE GAME.Dont put it on Dual layer disks since the PS2 doesnt deal with them that good.To rebuild DualLayer disks, use DVD Decrypter to make the iso on ur computer then use Apache 2 to split the layers apart and extract what evers on the second layer.Next remove some useless stuff(mainly movies)or downsample them usin PSS Downsampler. The just rebuild them as usual.

ok see the problem is this. im very new to this everygame ive backed up so far ive had no problems with. i thought by following winnings instructions i was "shrinking" the disc to fit a DVD5. if i combine all the star files (i.e. 000 001 002 000) what do i type in the cmd screen. i typed "copy/b star.000 + star.001 + star.002 + star.003 star.iso" in that EXACT way minus the parenthasis. all this talk about apache and other rebuilding techniques are way above my head sorry for being a pain in the.....

hi, well i got as far as making the star.iso at the end...
i have one question though, i got star.000,star.001,star.002,star.003,star.004 from the matrix :path of neo....
now if i merge all these together into one, all i get is the same size iso as what i started with!
so how many of these star files am i suppose to merge?
and what is the final size meant to be?
thanks
