Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Read more about the update and let us know what you think!

Avoid dealings with PhixClothing at all costs

@Pulsar, I have been in business now for a number of years and certainly lean on the side of caution, I would just like to make some initial enquiries and then go from there. If I should decide to proceed further then I can assure you I will make certain that things are done with an iron clad arrangement that offers me protection. It certainly appears that they need to work a little harder on their business skills.

@laurenzo, no doubt you will keep us posted on your "progress"

I am just astonished that there are obviously so many people that got problems with this company...apparently nobody had this good idea before to start a thread in the internet about it. Very happy for you that at least you got your jacket. I still would advise people to avoid all business with this company even if their jackets may be great...seems to be some kind of gamble if you get it or not
#55 09 Sep 2006 @ 17:44
@cater, I have taken up Carolines offer of a free jacket and have placed an order so I'll just have to sit back and see what happens. I sent her an email ordering the "freebie" but havent heard back from her...only time will tell.
Yes I do agree that the buyer must ALWAYS be aware as ordering items on line can in fact be a risky thing, fortunately to date these type of orders (internet) have gone smoothly but I must admit that I am now a little "gun shy"

hey there gwen, any chance of this Carolines email? cheers.
had much the same problem as you, i had ordered from Phix previously and had no problems, but this time its taken over a month and still no word.
what sickens me is that they have the time to send me emails regarding their new stock, but have problems dispatching said stock, or actually replying to emails.
but whatever, as for any of their customers, ive found a much better site who are far more reliable.

cheers, il let you know how it goes.
needless to say i start uni in a week and dont fancy carrying around my books in a plastic bag, so fingers crossed!
#59 13 Sep 2006 @ 13:41
well i kinda lost patience today and emailed them politely requesting cancellation. In literally an hour, they had replied apologising and claiming the bag had been send 1st class and that i would have a discount on my next purchase.
i duno how to feel about that but at least its something. Gwen it shouldnt really take you to raise concerns on here nor me to threaten cancellation to get good service, but at least their decent enough to offer a reconciliation.
cheers for the email in any case!

@DIA87, Glad to hear that you got things sorted, I can assure you that the items we have purchased to date are of good quality, it is a pity though that there seems to be a lack of communication between the Company and it's customers....if customer relations could be upgraded then I'm sure things would certainly improve with repeat business.
My sons first purchase went off with absolutely NO PROBLEMS however things deteriated from there, hopefully Caroline can pull things back into shape, Cheers.

Well work commitments have kept me very busy this last few days, I have now read this thread once again and can see that gwens son is not the only one experiencing problems with their purchases so I think I will heed the warning signs and back off from any ideas of becoming involved. It is a pity that some people have to experience the bitterness of disappointment when all they want is to enjoy their purchases.....it seems that Caroline is endeavouring to improve things but they shouldnt be allowed to deteriate to the stage where one has to chase up their purchases.

Good luck to all those who are waiting for their orders to be filled.
#62 19 Sep 2006 @ 0:07
For those who are still interested, I received an email from Caroline this evening advising me that the "Free" jacket that was offered has been posted, it appears that at least she (Caroline) is good to her word.

I will advise further upon receipt of jacket.

MBaldwin Suspended due non-functional email address
Hi Everyone,

Read this thread with great interest. I have known of a couple of people who have had problems with Phix Clothing both from eBay and the main site. (The Phix Clothing eBay account is active again now, too, I notice).

I just wanted to say it was a shame that things like this from some untrustworthy sites will put people off internet shopping. Someone mentioned Atom Retro (www.atomretro.com) earlier, and I would reccomend that site too. I have bought many things from that site without a single hitch or issue.

Hope you do recieve your 'free' jacket, Gwendolin.
#64 04 Oct 2006 @ 3:08
Well to date there's NO sign of the free jacket...semms like Caroline is full of it!!!

Hi Gwendolin, I ordered a jacket from phix clothing a few weeks ago and this is sounding all too familiar. Would it be possible to get caroline's e-mail?

They were all too happy to e-mail me when i had a question about the jacket before my purchase. However, since then i have had no joy out of the very same address. I wish i'd googled them prior to purchase.
#68 18 Oct 2006 @ 23:14
Check your Private messages. If I were you I'd kiss the money goodbye...it certainly is apparent how poorly the company conducts business. Caroline appeared to be the "saviour" but sadly she also joined the ranks of the inefficient and now ignores emails etc. For what it's worth her offer of a free jacket hasnt borne any fruits yet...still waiting.

This thread may serve as a warning for anyone else considering making a purchase from this company.

You appear to be one of the lucky ones, next time you want to purchase a jacket let me give you the same advice I gave to my son

Purchase from a reputable dealer

have the item in your hands before exchanging $$$$$$

Well I e-mailed Caroline and, surprise, surprise, still no contact from them. This company is an absolute joke. If anyone has any luck contacting them please let me know. Also, I paid using paypal, is there any way i can get my money back?
#73 22 Oct 2006 @ 12:48
You can do as I di , log onto PayPal site and lodge a dispute, I dont know if it will help but it will back up the claim that they are a little bit "suspect" and PayPal may have a closer look at them, good luck.

Heres a response from Janrocks

Quote:
janrocks (27 Oct 2006 9:07) Just a quicky.. There is officially no such company. They do not seem to have a registered address or VAT number. It seems a little like somebody has stolen the name of a valid but now in liquidation business from the other end of the street. Of course paypal don't want to help..they have already taken a cut. (I thought it was strange that somebody purporting to represent the company found the thread in the first place.. I think that's just some kid looking for attention)
Hi..just reporting what I found with my company search..good luck chasing it. I have a feeling that's the last you will see of your goods or cash.
Jan :xD
DONT deal with this company

Glad to have found you all as my daughter has been let down by this company. Jacket arrived but was too large so sent back with postage costs over two months ago and aside from the first email from 'Caroline Calderwood', we've heard nothing. I am in the process of formalising my complaint to take to the small claims court if I don't get the order or refund soon.
Just for your info, the address, 100 Prince of Wales Road, is home to a company called 'Budget Insurance' and the telephone number is 01603 613311.
