Has anyone used the “Digital Copy Stabilizer and Enhancer DP-5000”?
It is offered by world-import[dot]com for $119.99 as a replacement for the Sima CT-200.

If so, I'd like to hear about your experience[s] with it. I'm looking for something for VHS > DVD using my Philips 3575H DVDR.
Thanks, DB

I followed these excellent directions with my MWR20V6 and a brand new VS-100 from Qualitek... and it no workie trying to pipe Macrovision-proteced video out of the VHS through the stabilizer into the DVD using the dubbing feature. Has anybody gotten it to work?

I was able to defeat Macrovision using a second VHS player piped through the stabilizer into the DVD burner, but I wind up recording a lot of dead air if I'm not paying close attention... Grrr. It's almost as if there's an internal channel inside the unit that bypasses the rear output when using the dubbing feature.

I'd love to be able to trust it to run unattended. What's the most likely thing that I'm doing wrong?

Howdy Y'all,

I borrowed the Magnavox MWR20V6 from a friend and he is not around to ask questions. All I need to do is copy 30 non-protected VHS tapes to DVD-R. I am sure it is really simple but can someone who has done this maybe reply with the exact steps ? I would appreciate that as I have limited time, the owners manual is useless and I have to give the unit back soon.

Nothing fancy, just a decent transfer without menus or other features. Oh yeah, which format are they when on the DVD ?

Thank you to whomever answers. Take care y'all.

Hi,

I just acquired a used mwr20v6, however it came without a remote control. After reading this thread, I have purchased a Phillips Universal Learning-Capable remote...however I have no idea what to do next! Does anyone know the codes I need to use to program the remote, and any other programming of the remote I may need to do?

Thanks!

ETA: So I played with the recorder and the remote...and I got all the way to the end...but I can't finalise the disk! Titles are done, chapters are set, images are picked...but with the universal remote, I can't figure out how to get into the set up menu to get the disk to finalise.

Any one have any ideas?
Thanks!

MikeAdams, you are awesome, and I appreciate your help SO much.

I have a different remote to you, and it seems to have some different buttons. I have model SRU6061, and if it helps, it looks like this:

http://www2.p4c.philips.com/files/s/sru6...061_17_rtp_.jpg

I don't have a Code Search button on my remote - though I do have a code search light, which I lights up when I press and hold the setup button. I've got the remote programmed with the DVD and VCR codes you gave me, but I still can't get into the Setup menu.

Here's what I've tried, and hopefully you can tell me what I'm doing wrong...

As for the single key functions you described in your first reply, then work for me as described - except, of course, the (r) button, which I don't have on my remote. I do have a setup button, but it doesn't call up the setup menu.

Also, I can't get any of the dual command keys to work, such as (CS)(DVD). I have a 'Setup' button that I've tried using, and a 'Learn' button that I've tried pressing first, but nothing happens for any of the dual key press functions.

Again, I really appreciate your help and the time you're taking on this.

Thanks!

I have a problem where sometimes, I cannot record the over the air local(Denver) CBS broadcast, I get the "program is not allowed to be recorder e25" msg. Sometimes it happens after about 5 seconds, today it happened 30 some minutes into recording the CBS Sunday Morning program.
No cable/satellite/Tivo involved.

All other stations work OK, and even sometimes I can record CBS ok.

Any Ideas?

Thanks.
