Are you sure that it's a compatible ISO? I don't know if Resident Evil is compatible.

From what I can see, CloneCD (at least the version available on the company's website) can only rip CD images in its own proprietary format. Do you convert that in ISO aftewards (and if yes, how?) or can one of the files generated be used as-is in PSX2PSP or PopStation?

Quote: [quoet]An ISO dumping utility to dump your PlayStation 1 game.
..
could you explain what does it mean, this dumb utility, cos i was thinking that with the OE-B the only thing that i need is the ISO.
An ISO dumping utility is what you use to create the ISO. But if you "managed to get one" (pirated it) then you don't need one. You just can convert the iso.

Problem: When I go to the psp and run that game it says Hot shot golf or whatever that is (supposed to say that right?) and I start it and the screen just goes black basically, and then I just quit out of it and now I'm here :(
/don't know much about this.
Search for a compatibility list. Not all the PS1 games work with this emulator!!! Keep in mind Sony has only put up a select few on the Sony store, so there's no guarantee that yours will work.
Used PSX2PSP, Clean PopStation and Prometeus (Mac utility). None of the EBOOT.PBP worked. I will probably give up playing anything until I get a new memory stick, capable of holding a full CD. What are you guys using to rip the CD? I'm using ISOBuster, but are there other (free) alternatives?
I actually used the Alcohol 120% free trial and it worked like a charm :P
Please if you have a problem with an ISO, there is a link to the compatibility list on the first post

amktor456, make sure you're definately running 3.02 OE-B. I thought I'd upgraded mine, but it either didn't take or I imagined it as when I checked my system information, it was OE-A. I re-applied the patch and I got rid of my nasty 80000004 message. FFVII now functional for me... I hope this helps you. :)
EDIT: When I rebooted my psp, it would no longer play and give the 80000004 error again. When I deleted the save file for it, it worked again. Anyone fancy figuring this out?

System Information definitely says "3.02 OE-B", not A. I will try reapplying the patch, though I doubt it will work :(

this is how i got it 2 ISO
i got CDRWIN witch then i could make a BIN file from the disk then i used PowerISO to convert it to an ISO file then used the psp2psp to convert that into the eboot file and the keys file.
put that in the game folder it says the u can call the folder anytin so i called it spyro and put the files in there then went to game on my psp it came up with hot shots 2 and when i clicked on it it just came up with a black screen

Which is exactly what I did. Except for the PAL conversion part, since my PSX games are NTSC. I thought the problem was my ripping method, but it seems it comes from somewhere else.

I do know that the question I am going to ask could be off topic but herre goes.
I have the Final Fantasy 7 psx game (yes the original) it is a PAL version, I have just recently upgraded to 3.02 OEB.
Heres my problem, some Fu**er managed to break into my house and steal my psx console and what was inside the console... Final Fantasy 7 disc one.
Now is there a way that I can continue on my FF VII journey wilthout having to somehow get hold of the first disk again???
Thanks for all the help!!

Still not working... *sigh*
I tried something new : I downloaded a pre-made EBOOT.PBP file for Crash Bandicoot 2 (which I own anyway) and copied it to X:\PSP\GAME\CRASH2, along with KEYS.BIN, but I got the same "80000004" error message. Then, I tried running the official EBOOT.PBP for Hot Shots Golf 2, and it played. Is it possible that my PSP only plays official EBOOTs? I'm starting to think the problem doesn't come from my conversion method...
I looked into the configuration (holding R as the PSP boots) to see if there was an option that I missed somewhere, but I don't think anything's wrong with it.
Thanks in advance for any hint/suggestion you guys can provide!
P.S. I upgraded to 3.03 OE-A, but there is no change in my situation.

I tried to test out the whole process last night with Command and Conquer Red Alert.
Nothing would work, the programme kept telling me that it needed the popstation.exe file and the "keys" file. Anyone know where I could get it??

Alright, since everyone seems to have problems right now i'll tell you all the steps I went to for getting Final Fantasy Seven. Follow these exactly. (Some things you'll have to do on your own, but that's why PM's were invented).
Step one: Upgrade to OE-B. If you don't know how to do that, go here: http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-firmware-disc...read-84905.html
Step two: Rip your ISO. I used the Alcohol 120 Free Trial for all three ISOs. Works FINE. No need to use any illegal things, just use this. For the settings for the image, use Standard Image Format (*.iso). Get that free trial from here: http://trial.alcohol-soft.com/en/
Step three: Convert your ISO. To be perfectly honest, I did break the law to use the converter. But, finding the full Popstation (including base.PBP and Keys.bin) is near impossible on google. I'll give you a hint; that's all i'm allowed to do: Use a torrent. Keyword: Popstation.
Once you have completed step three successfully, you should have a KEYS.BIN file that came with the pack ;). Drag that and your newly created EBOOT.PBP file into X:\PSP\GAME\NAMEOFGAME\. (X refers to the drive letter of your PSP).
If this does not works, check the steps, and the compatibility list. I 've only done this with Final Fantasy 7, so I have no idea about other ISO's compatibility with this method, but feel free to ask questions. Answering is what I do best :D

My problem isn't that I can't figure out the ISO's cause they work fine. However, I keep getting problems from the ISO's that make them become corrupt in my memory stick. Most times after playing an ISO, i will run cmd and then chkdsk on the memory stick and it will say there are problems that it cannot fix. Then I end up formatting it and run chkdsk again and it says there are no problems. So I put the iso back again, play em a few times adn the same thing happens.

Well. My Final Fantasy Disc 1 ISO's folder name is FINAL FANTASY 7 DISC ONE, so if any of you are trying to do this with FFVII, then try that folder name. Also, before converting your ISOs, try using a PSX emulator so you can see if they're actually working ones... Download ePSXe from here: http://emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psx/epsxe.html
You need the PSX bios to make it run, but it's illegal to supply those. I will tell you that they are called scph1001.bin
You also need plugins, which can be found here: http://www.aldostools.com/psemu/plugins.zip
