i found a problem with the new firmware that on HD tv's there picture is very dark but on a standard tv the picture is fine is there a way to fix this any help id be greatful as it has messed with my head for 2 days tryin to sort this out

Hi Guys
I live in Birmingham - is the Eurovox Max V 2008 going to work here? Anybody send me a PM as to what this devise does - I think I know but just want confirmation before I buy.
I have Virgin Media at the moment - Cable.

Excellent it has turned up today and got 240 channels - although there are loads that do ot actually tell you what they are. Any idea how I can find what these ar or get them inserted?
Am I right in using frequency 300 to 870, symbolrates 6.952 and 6.887?
Other than using favourites is there an easier way to put channels in some fom f order?

I have now sorted by Name, and rnamed some of the channels that didn't have names - but there are loads of blank channels with names like BTVService01, 03, etc - some have Dr Who Xmas Clip showing over and over, then another with Radio 2 music and another with 5 Live. But the others say three four or 3 5 over and over.
Then there are about 25 different channels all blank TVCh1 all the way to TVCh12. are these suposed to be something?

240 channels sound about right
Im not too sure what the channels are for e.g. TV 1234 , You might find some of them are Movie or Sports channels , I think TV 1700 is the Pay Per View (S*Y B0X Office)

Hi Folks, Back again with a few more questions ....... am on N*L in the Dublin area. I have a Eurovox Max V (black one) got it in Oct. It set up fine but I did not install the beta upgrade as I was unsure of it. Does anyone have any update on how good it is.
Also, was wondering if it is possible to get the box office movies on it, currently don't have these?
The time is also annoying me, every time I switch it on the EPG and on screen time are an hour ahead so I keep missing the programmes I want to watch. Is there a cure?

Pull the plug on the back of the box, plug it back in, then immediately go to time settings and set the time with the GMT settings, then turn GMT off, press blue button to save and exit. You may have to try this more than once if you dont get it right first time.

Is there an idiots guide to updating the box. I have a null modem cable and a link to the update. Is it simply a case of following on screen instructions?

Go to Eamos FTA Library at the bottom of my post, I have put a lot of guides in the Eurovox Documentation folder, you will also find all other EV items in the Eurovox folder.

Something I've noticed after installing the Kuro firmware............
1. The little "picture in picture", doesn't change when scrolling down the channels in the channel list. (It used to change in the previous firmware)
2. When you change the channel list to view it in A-Z mode, as soon as you hit OK to view a channel then come back to the channel list again the mode has reverted back to numerical order.
Again, in the previous firmware it did not do this - it stayed in alphabetical order no matter how many times you navigated away from channel list
Am I doing something wrong - not have it set up right or something or is everyones like this too. Seems like a bit of a PITA to be honest. Although the 16:9 will be good.

For loss of PIN code press 1004 (this should do it for you) if not 1007, have known that to work on odd box.

new to the forum , hi all , need help with my eurovox v box , all channels went off , can do a scan but it still wont pick anything up , signal is about 8% , have tried differnet scans and put in diff symbol rates as suggested on the letter i got with it , this was in july last year , do i need to do a software or firmware update , my system info says

h/w ver 2,0t k5
bootstrap v001
if it does need a update can someone please help me and tell me what i need.

mrmacca64 only here for a minute but there is a problem with some eurovox maxv and the signal only going to 8% you need to contact the person you bought it off as most sellers are aware of the problem,also you should have new firmware on your box but i dont think thats a problem for now.

anybody know if there are gonna be any more updates for the eurovox max because i could really use an update that turns off audio descriptive its really annoying just settling down to a film then have some bloke explainin everything to ya
