really...does that matter. Do u know 4 sure.
Could be couse everything should be fine.
the only thing is when i open the image in Image Patcher 1.6.
And Scan File....Verify Version. At the bottom even though it's patched it says:
'DNAS280.IMG;1' is PATCHED, it matches patch (280A)
Is this right

Hey chuckp99. Thanks for the help. Hey and it's clipsemx by the way. If I could change it I would. Anyway it's true what your saying. Sony would not ban consoles because they would lose money.

Yes the disc id is unique, as long as you only know it you can use it to patch all your online games.

Rhem definately try it on a dvd-r and make sure when your getting your socom 2 id that is actually an original ID and not the ID of the disc id utility. ALso another thing to check is that if fightnight is a DNAS game.

Requirements: PS2 with modchip or some form of booting backed up games and homebrew software. Network adapter, a DVD burner, blank DVD-rs and CDrs, and piece of paper and pen/pencil. Disc ID disk from ps2nfo.com and disc id utility for your pc.
Process:
1. Get an original PS2 pressed DVD game for your region i.e. USA or Europe or Whatever. It shouldn't matter which game as i've used a socom 2 to patch a madden 05.
2. Get the Disc ID utility program from ps2nfo.com and burn it to CDR.
Boot the Disc ID utility in your PS2 with which ever method you use i.e. Modechip, fliptop, slide card whatever.
It will come up to a screen were you can hit eject... Now the hard part, put in your ORIGINAL ps2 game and press X. Write down the DISC ID on your paper.
3. Now go to your computer where you have your backed up iso and run the Disc ID patcher from ps2nfo.com and select the iso file. Enter in the Disc ID you wrote down. Click on Patch.
4. Now burn your backup and play it like you normally would and log online and have some fun.
It should be noted the point of this walkthrough is not to support warez but to make it easier for us that backup all of our ps2 games. Basically so we can use one disc id to patch all of our games instead of patching each one with the original ID. Gets to be a pain in the ass if your inserting the disc ID utility disc in then swaping for your originals all the time. Like i've stated i've used my Socom 2 ID for my Madden 2005 backup and it works fine. Next i'm going to try patching my backup of ESPN NFL 2k5 with my Socom 2 id.
If this process fails some other things to try is to make sure your media is okay for your ps2 by going here http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia . Also make sure your burning at a slow speed I burn all my DVD backups at 2x and my CDr backups at 8x. If you haven't made a backup before that is probably the biggest part of your problem.

1 question. If I bought a NTSC Game. Can I use that Disc ID for my NTSC online games. I have a PAL PS2

You cant play NTSC region games on a PAL server because the server wont recognize that id. Only the NTSC servers will recognize that id, so you will have to use PAL only id's.

No, dont think that you can go on a PAL server with a NTSC game whether it is real or not. The PAL server only recognizes PAL id codes, if it sees a NTSC code it will just think it is a fake one and reject it.

Not true. The server you connect to is determined by the Game, not the location of the system. A NTSC game will connect to american servers. A PAL game will connect to European servers. As long as you patch a NTSC game with a NTSC code, it will go online. Likewise, PAL games may only be patched with PAL codes.

hi i just read the thread and im still a bit confused by the whole process... i have a magic 3.0 (blue chip) and i have NFSU original... i was wondering if i could still make a backup copy of my NFSU and play online eventhough my modchip does not have a sleep mode or a switch to turn it off? also if i make an exact copy of the game can i use it online or do i still need to patch the image with the disc id? one other question is can anyone send me the files i need to do the patching as well as the machine code changer(i cant get an account on that site) thx
