Hello all, I seem to have a bit of a problem here. I have backed up a few of my movies successfully using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, but as the movie gets close to the end, about 10 mins. or so, the picture gets pixelated, starts to skip, freezes and starts back up at the beginning. Also the Special Features from these discs seem to lock up my DVD Players. I have searched the Forums and have lowered my target size for Shrink at 4300MB, I have been burning at 4x since day one, and I have been using Verbatims 16x+R(MCC 004) and these new FUJI 8x-R(FUJUFILM03). I have an HP DVD740i LIghtscrbie Burner. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rommel
How are you viewing those backups? Stand alone player or on the pc using that HP 740i? Usually those issues are on stand alone players. If yours is,try viewing them on that HP 740i. Pay close attention to the end of the backup while you are watching the pc. That HP should play it to near original quality. Also test them out in some other stand alone players, the more-the better. Compression can also be a factor. You reduced your backup target to 4300 mbs and sounds like you are backing up full disc. Do you use the quality enhancements of dvd shrink like deep analysis and the Adaptive error compension of Max smoothness/max sharpness/sharp default?
Yeah the problem occurs on all three of my stand-alone players but plays perfect on the PC. I'm not sure if compression is an issue because the file size that I have come up with just burning the Main Movie was 3.72GB. Bad rip perhaps?
It's doing it with both those MCC-004 verbs and fujifilm03? Those verbs are excellent. I have more issues when I burn them slow. I have to go at least 8x using my benq 1640. Fujifilm03 is on the lower quality spectrum. These are the taiwanese dash 8x fujis. 3 stand alones that show those issues, but your HP740I plays them ok? That is odd. I am no fan of HP burners. I do have the 640c and because of compatability isses and coasters,I only use it to read and do the light scribing. What's the firmware version of that HP 740I?
