I recently bought an external dvd burner and I've been trying to copy some of my home dvd's using the dvd rom drive that came with my computer, but when the project gets to about 75% a disc read error shows up.

(Using Nero 6 to copy the disc that's in the DVD-Rom Drive in computer, program makes image of project, then burns to external DVD Burner.)

I was wondering if anyone knows how to copy the home dvd using Nero 6 and then burning the image later?

I know I can copy and paste the files onto my computer and then burn them using Nero DVD-Video Files burner. But the disc has something new I have never seen and I'm not sure how to implement it when I burn the disc.

The home video disc has 3 folders that include:

    AUDIO_TS
    ULEADDMF
    VIDEO_TS

Is there a way to make an image of the disc, putting it on my computer and then burning it later as a DVD player compatible DVD disc?

If anymore info is needed let me know.

    Thanks!!!

    P.S.
Hope I put this in the right part of the forum.

You can use DVD Decrypter: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ ,
It does exactly what you asked. You can rip with DVDD in ISO mode, this will save an ISO on your computer, and then you can burn with Decrypter that image onto a new DVD.

Well, that my friend, depends on the media you use and on your DVD burner, also your DVD player. If you use DVD-R discs, it will play in most players. If you use DVD+R media, and if your DVD burner supports booktyping and you set the booktype to DVD-ROM, you have an even higher chance of compatibility. If you are just asking if it will play in standalone DVD players and not just your computer, then the answer is yes, it will.
What DVD player/burner do you have?
Okay, I just saw the PS2 line, that I don't know anything about, as I never had my hands on one!:~)!

    My burner is a:

    Lite-On DVDRW SHW-1635S USB Device

The thing is, I've copied other discs by copy and pasting from the home video dvd discs and then burning them. They worked fine.
I just don't know if it will work since another folder is added I never heard of, the [bold]ULEADDMF[/bold] folder.

Maybe it will work I don't know, but I just want to make sure there won't be a problem. When Nero Express burns the files/folders to the disc as a DVD Video Disc.

"OUT OF MEMORY"....I just purchased AnyDVD and decided to test how i go about making a copy of Madagascar. I first ripped it with Decrypter and using Nero Recode2 I made a copy of the movie only. I then tried to copy the entire DVD using Nero Recode2 with AnyDVD running in the background, I set the target size to "4400" and it got through with the Analysis, then failed at 72% encoding with the "OUT OF MEMORY" flag. NOW I WAS LED TO BELIEVE THAT ANYDVD WAS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICE BREAD. I then used DVDFab decrypter (with no AnyDVD enabled) it ripped fine, I used Shrink to fit it all onto a 4.7 GB disc and it automatically burned with Nero for a complete disc.

Is the problem with Nero Recode2 in that it couldn't shrink the whole Madagascar DVD. OR Is the problem with AnyDVD running in the background and missing some encrypted file ...remember DVDFab didn't miss anything!

Please give me some help here.
