I just purchased this unit (3hrs ago) it will not copy most programs off of Dish Network especially any movies..this is the only reason I bought It $349.00 Best Buy......Is there any fix for this....????...I did find that it seems to record anything off of the Dish PVR when playing back recorded shows....... The unit I took Back was LiteOn LVW 1107HC1 which had no problem recording direct broadcasting, but lack features that I wanted....... Does anybody have a DVD Recorder with VCR and multi format (+ and -) R n RW..........and Optical and s viedo outs?????? THAT WILL RECORD DISH NETWORK PROGRAMING??????????????? HELP PLESE
Try a Panasonic ES20. I understand Sony will not record some movies off say HBO. Sony is so afraid someone is going to get something free. HBO puts out a signal that sony picks up and will not record just like store bought DVD's. I have the Liteon you mentioned and seems to be OK except it will not let me change the thumbnails. The Panasonic will do + or - R's but only - RW's. There is a filter box you can get at Bestbuy and other stores that will filter the signal so you can use your Sony. It is usually from $75 to $100.
