Can someone tell me exactly what the re-author function in Shrink does? Because I just burned a disc (whole disc) 1:1 with just a little bit of compression and I didn't use the re-author function at all and the movie works just fine.

re-author lets u pick what u want. if u can do the whole movie with little compression thats good. if it requires alot of compression then i would select re-author and do main movie, along with deep analysis.

You can also use the start/end frame function to shorten parts. The only downside to reauthor is if you like to have menus. The menu can be added but it will not be functional. Shrink will also give you an message telling you this when you try and drag it over.
