i have windows xp Home Edition. I have Nero 6 Utlra Edition. I did a scan and the Nero tool found the ASPI installation corrupted. I tried to find out what the problem was and learned some of the wrong things were in my computer for the xp Edition. The report said Nero ASPI was installed and working, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on my computer for other functions. In short, I checked with AASPICK.exe and it was suggested I use Force ASPI 1.7 for the XP edition. Well, I didn't realize each file in the zip actually went to work as soon as you hit one and I deleted the ASPI I did have. Now to install the new layer for XP... Force ASPI 1.7 is suppose to put the right ones in for XP, but it didn't. It put ones in for Windows 200, and NT, so I don't know what to do. How do I get those DLL files back into my computer?
Have you tried unistalling the force aspi drivers and reinstalling them to see if they install the correct XP drivers?
Run the killaspi.bat first. Then reboot computer. Windows should install its own aspi when it find it missing, but if it doesnt find it, install one. Here is adaptec aspi package for window. http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/su...sess=no&prodkey=ASPI-4.70&language=English+US You can get by with no system aspi, or with one installed, but not with a corrupt system aspi.
