I need some help , I use xp file & transfer wizard to transfer all information that was on my old PC to a external
hard drive , (everything) , Now I want to but the data on my new PC , but all I get is data files in a backup folder, I
have took ownership of the file but can not open or find my old e-mail’s or video and photo , but I can listen to my
MP3 file that are in the backup folders.

How do I recover the data that’s in the external hard drive , so I use it ?

Check back in an hour thank’s for your input

    Hi Bodean,
I have never done it but, it seems like 2-part process - you must now import this data into the new OS, where it will be restored and become usable again...?
Open the Wizard on your new PC and look for info on how to import. You are now only half-way there ;^)
    Regards

    was the server down

I tried to do that but got no where ! Thats when I took ownership . The only thing I have on the
external drive is the contends of the old PC . I think I should have took the old PC and wait for
the new PC to come in and hooked up the two PC’s together but I did not have the time to do
that. So now I have all the data that was on the old PC on a drive that I can’t use , unless there is
a way to transfer the data back to it original format (like a program utility) of some sort.
