I do not intend to keep up with the joneses and get any new versions of windows product. However, I have seen in multiple instances now where the programs shown here only work with Win2K or above. My question is: which of the avi to dvd progs., both freeware and paid work with 98SE? ConvertX doesn't and says so. AVI2DVD doesn't and says so. Tmp is on that list too. What does?
the problem with 98 is it uses fat32 so cannot handle files over 4gb which limits your ability to create dvd iso's that ussually excede 4gb Dvddecryptor i think works with 98 but if I was you I think I would Keep Up With jones's
Well, my long range plan is to go open source and be able to do this stuff in Linux. Trouble is I've spent some time in Linux and not got much past the desktop in a variety of distros. The situation should change over time. But this reasoning is good I guess. So I've have to specify NTFS in formatting rather than ext3? That is a question for another day. What bugs me about the Nero is that I've had a couple of successful jobs then this roadblock. Doing an AVI to DVD in Linux is a multi-step process and I wish that Afterdawn would get behind this. Wheile there is Linux expertise at places like Mepis and others, what is needed is the more professional style guides that I have come to rely on from Ad.
