I just got a new pc this weekend with a DVD burner in it. I have a burner that is dual layer burning capable and I was wondering if it's better to compress and burn to DVD+R or to back up movies using the dual layer discs since many of the movies have more than 4.36 Gb on them. It seems that most of this forum is strictly about DVD+R but I was wondering if anyone out there has any thoughts on this....better to burn to single layer or dual layer if I have the ability? Thanks in advance for any help.
i guess that depends on how much u want to spend. most people prefer dvd5 because u can get them for.30 cents a piece and dvd9 is $2 a piece. i use both but i only use the dl for movies that are worth it(most are not).
Ok...I figured that was probably one of the main reasons. I wasn't sure if there was really a quality issue with using the DVD5 discs. I guess I can try out both options to see if there is any difference.
if u want the best quality on a dvd5 then use dvdrebuilder and cce.if u dont want to spend the extra cash then i would suggest the free version of rebuilder (basic),and hc (hanks encoder). u can get a free ripper too-dvdfabdecrypter.
