32 bit - 64 bit

    does anyone know if you can put a 32 bit in a 64 bit motherboard? will it work ?

    what do u mean, its all about the Socket size so 939 will only fit in a 939 motherboard, and so on, so i dont get ur question, i beleive that there has been a sempron out either 754 or 939 which did not say that it was 64 but said it was 32 bit, but could be a typo on the amd website.

    Hope that this is wat ur after ;)

    All Athlons have been 32-bit CPUs, except for the new Athlon64, Sempron64 (and now Opteron) for Sockets 754 and 939 - they are all 64-bit.

    NO its an imposibilty.

    you can try n jam one onto the borad if you like but i can guarantee you it wont come on lol

    the processors are specific to there own type of motherboard... you want a 64 bit processor you get a motherboard made for a 64 bit processor

    PS

    opterons have been around for a long time and were already 64 bit
