Hey, I just bought another xbox for $120au and was trying to softmod it using splinter cell. Everything went fine up until I hit checkpoints. The xbox error screen comes up with error 21. I rebooted my xbox and it worked fine. I tried the softmod again and same thing. I updated my dashboard via xbox live but still have the same problem. Im thinking it has something to do with the xbox itself as only last week I softmodded a v1.6 xbox with no troubles. I'm pretty sure that the xbox is a v1.6b as it has a samsung drive in it, but what puzzles me is that the mfg is 25 feb 2003 which is before my v1.4 xbox which was made in september 2003 and my v1.6 xbox which was made in 2004 in june!!! Can someone who has successfully softmodded a v1.6 xbox help me?? I'll open the xbox up if I have to. I need this xbox softmodded for a person before the end of the week thhough. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i would check the m$ dash version. That would suck if m$ started putting never dashes on the new boxes, which I doubt. You might have to update your dash before softmodding.
I did update my dash from 5010 or whatever to 5960 because the softmod thing im usin says 2 use 5960. Any ideas???
