I'm new at the whole DVD authoring process. I searched the site and found that NERO seemed to be a pretty reliable program. I've used it before successfully, but this time I've run into a few problems. The transcoding went through well and then the burn seemed to work (the program told me it burned successfully). When I go to try it in my DVD player it says it doesn't recognize the disk. and When I try to read it on my computer it looks like this (attached photo at bottom). Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
ok not a pro but from quick glance it looks like the problem is that you are missing one vts file for every set...like i said i am not a pro but every time i have ever worked with a movie or tv show it was 4 vts file every time...maybe this will help...a place to start...also if you have the nero log it would help out alot to....just remember to replace your serial # with x's though...just good advice
well....my vts' go up to 12 (i just gave an example of the files) and here's the log for that project. After reading through the logs it says that burn process failed, but the program said it was successful If it helps here is what i was using I/O Magic External USB 2.0 DVD RW/R Nero 7 Maxell DVD-R Thanks for the Response ====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ====== XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 11/2/2004 12:54:32 PM NT-SPTI used Nero API version: 7.0.5.4 Using interface version: 7.0.0.0 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\ Application: ahead\NeroVision Internal Version: 7, 0, 5, 4 Recorder: <DVDRW USB 16X> Version: A07R - HA 1 TA 1 - 7.0.5.4 Adapter driver: <USB 1.0> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : set to ATAPI (3) -> ATAPI, detected: ? === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : WDC WD400BB-53AUA1 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8160B atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8160B D: CDRom0 DVDRW USB 16X E: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 0 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 24117248 (0) Byte BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 126MB (129328kB) Free physical memory: 24MB (25516kB) Memory in use : 80 Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 14.2.2006 NeroAPI 1:14:55 AM #1 Phase 111 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 278 DVD-Video files sorted 1:15:02 AM #2 Text 0 File ThreadedTransfer.cpp, Line 531 ReadBuffer-Pipe got 23552KB of Memory 1:15:02 AM #3 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 124 Reader running 1:15:02 AM #4 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 113 Writer E: DVDRW USB 16X running 1:15:02 AM #5 ISO9660GEN -11 File Geniso.cpp, Line 3312 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 1:15:02 AM #6 ISO9660GEN -11 File Geniso.cpp, Line 3312 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 1:15:03 AM #7 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3341 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 1:15:03 AM #8 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 288 Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2121999 (471:33.24, 4144MB) 1:15:03 AM #9 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 300 Write in overburning mode: NO (enabled: CD) 1:15:03 AM #10 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2699 Recorder: DVDRW USB 16X, Media type: DVD-R Disc Manufacturer: RITEKG - 05 Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193 1:15:03 AM #11 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 472 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= 1:15:03 AM #12 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 847 Setup items (after recorder preparation) 0: TRM_DATA_MODE1 () 2 indices, index0 (150) not provided original disc pos #0 + 2122000 (2122000) = #2122000/471:33.25 relocatable, disc pos for caching/writing not required/ required, no patch infos -> TRM_DATA_MODE1, 2048, config 0, wanted index0 0 blocks, length 2122000 blocks [E: DVDRW USB 16X] -------------------------------------------------------------- 1:15:04 AM #13 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1059 Prepare recorder [E: DVDRW USB 16X] for write in CUE-sheet-DAO DAO infos: ========== MCN: "" TOCType: 0x00; ok well that would explain why the dvd does not play... ok first thing i see is this "1:25:23 AM #25 CDR -600 File Writer.cpp, Line 302 Device not available E: DVDRW USB 16X" the drive was busy for some reason every thing else seems alright to me but i am no pro here either....every thing seemed to prepare just fine...so i would just try to reburn but this time shut all other programs down(nero gets pissy about multi tasking) and burnat 4x best for maxel...also it looks like you have a 1.0 usb prot but are working with a 2.0 usb burner is this true and if so how long have you had this set up not that i am saying it has anythig to do with it but maybe...also make sure you have the lastes firmware for you burner you can find it here... http://www.iomagic.com/Products/driver_search.asp just eneter you type and you are good to go
