I am looking to purchase a good (not too expensive) package for CD/DVD burning - I'd like this software to include packet-writing as well. I've heard of Sonic RecordNow - has anyone anything good to say about this one?
Nero is pretty much the authority when it comes to burning software. Why would you want packet writing? TAO and DAO is much better than packet writing.
You can find nero 6 oem suite 3 for about $15 if you google for it. It comes with recode 2 and packet writing software. Suites 1 & 2 don't have recode 2.
@TinyNana I gotta agree w/ Mort& GlueEater. Nero is the way to go - I've been using it for years. It also has a lot of different programs and useful utilities - more the Sonic RecordNow. Used that too - wasn't thrilled.
TinyNana I vote w/ everyone else as Nero is the way to go. I also tried Sonic and really was not impressed. Tried Roxio and that also did nothing for me
I am with the rest have had Nero since ver. 3 and it is the best. Have tried Sonic and Roxio and neither was that great.
Nero for sure. Depending on your needs, see what Nero options are available with the purchase of a new drive. Granted, the Nero version you get will only work for that drive. However, it can be cheaper to upgrade an OEM version and you get to keep the new drive. TC
Hi folks, tks to you all for your advice - I'll go for Nero then! A coincidence finding to-day a mail in my inbox which advertises Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 for USD 23.19. I might as well ask if anyone has by any chance tried this one?
@TinyNana I've tried quite a few but not that one. Looks very similar to nero. Keep things simple and get Nero - it has everything you'll need.
And if you have any problems w/ Nero you are sure to get it solved here, I know nothing about ashanpoo.
