hello guys, im in a big big jam. i had put my entire set of home movies as a kid on dvd-r. it played fine in my dvd player. a few months went by, i kept it in its case. i played it the other day and there was a little stutter in once scene but i though it was just dirty. i used some of that scratch repair stuff on the disk. i didnt see any scratched though. ok, i tried to back this disk up and i get 2% thru the reading part of the process and i get errors. i have tried multiple programs to get these files on my hard disc so i can re-burn. dvd decrypter failed. i even tried dvd shrink to gahter the files. no good. I used my sonic and it froze it up and crashed . i tried having it read from both of my dvd drives and same problem. is this disk done for good? my whole youth is on that disc!

my burner is a sony dru-530A. im on windows xp home. pentium 4 1gig ram fast computer.

any ideas how to extract this data. i gotta back up the video

    thanks

You can try decrypter in iso mode if you haven't already. Check ignore read errors in tools>settings>io tab.
You can also try iso buster - you can download it from here:
    http://www.isobuster.com/
Also try cleaning the lens on the drive - if dusty it will clean it which may help it rip thru the errors.
If you do get this copied to your hd - remember use quality media like taiyo yuden or verbatim and don't burn at max speed.
    Good luck!!
