    newbburnr ,
Welcome to the forum. That is a loaded question as it really depends on your computer specs and how many processes run in the background along w/ how much ram you have. Give us the spec and we will try to ballpark it or state what the problems are w/ your system. If you give the specs please include a movie you did w/ the times you did

Well i just wanted to get a feel for what the typical speeds are. I currently have a laptop with: (forgive me im not use to listing specs but here we go)1.73 intel centrino processor with 1g of ram that takes 45 min from start to finish. I also have a 2400 amd athlon xp with 512mb of ram that takes about 40 minutes. I just bought a amd 4200 x2 with 1g of ram today and i was hoping to increase my burn times. I just did not know what to expect.

Those times for start to finish seem to be in line. Remember you are transcoding and not encoding as if you were truly encoding the times would really be a lot longer. You can Check out the search feature here at AD and on the net to find out the difference. Your last systewm listed you might get about 5-10% increase but since I do not have that system to check it out try the new one and then list your times back. So keep burning as all seems OK
