Two questions. Nero 6 has had updates since 1st Feb 2006. How come AfterDawn Newsletter has failed to alert us of this under the Recently Updated Software section? Unless I somehow missed it I think this disappointing. Does anyone know any details of what the actual updates for Nero 6 have fixed or added? The link on Nero website (Release Notes)only points to previous update prior to the 31/1/2006.
Are you talking about version 6.6.1.4 ? If so, the updated "added" some bugs so you cannot automatically burn with Nero when using Shrink.!
Advise go back to 6.6.0.18. 6.6.1.4 release is "buggy" 6.6.0.18 was more "Stable" I know, I downloaded the latest update tp 6.6.1.4 and ended up disliking it so much I searched here & a couple of fellow members provided links to 6.6.0.18. Ahhh, much better.
Here are the links to version 6.6.0.18 (stick to this version it's stable and works like it should). http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
thanks, will give it a try. As it appears no one is clear what version 6.6.14 fixes what about 6.6.0.18? Do we have any idea what this fixed. My last version was version 6.6.0.16. What about Recode my last version is 2.2.6.11. Is there another update for this? If so what was fixed or added in this?
All updates to the individual applications are included in the packages, so updating to version 6.6.0.18 will also include updates for Nero recode (for example). To see exactly whats been changed/added/fixed click on the link provided, once there just click on the version numbers to see the changes/fixes made for that version. NOTE: version 6.6.0.18 doesn't seem to be listed, and some others as well??? http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_Ultra_Edition_Update_Release_Notes.html
Actualy recode is part of package 2. To go back to the one with 6.6.0.18 you will need the nve package from either link here. http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe
Noteworthy: To perform this, one needs to do a Complete Un-Install of ALL of Nero, the use Nero's "General Clean tool" to scrub out the registry. Then install your Nero 6 Ultra, and instead of updating from Nero.com , use these links to 6.6.0.18 for Nero Burning ROM & NVE 3.1.0.21 saved to your Desktop to update the software. This is called a "Clean Install". It'll take care of the last very "Buggy" Update from Nero. I don't think Nero did a good "Test Drive" with this one before releasing it. In my experience, updating NVE first, then Updating Nero Burning ROM works best.
