    I have several types of movies that I want to backup to DVD. I feel like my head is spinning trying to keep all of this straight. I currently have Nero Express, IfoEdit, IsoBuster, CDRWin, DVDShrink, Avi2DVD, Cucusoft, AnyDVD, ImgBurn, VCDEasy, MagicISO, and DVDFabPlatinum. Every help forum I go to tells me to use something else. What I need to know is, what software do I really need and what is the best and EASIEST way to burn a movie to DVD? For example, I have VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders for one movie, another movie is an .avi, and in yet another movie I somehow extracted my files to get a .bin, and then used IsoBuster to extract it. I personally feel that it's easiest to burn images but am not sure how to end up with the .bin from other formats. I have used so many different programs, I'm unsure if what I'm doing is necessary. I can't even finish movies because of all the steps I am using.

    what are the files that you are using to try to make a dvd? if they are avi you need to convert them to vob to make a dvd, the program dvix to dvd works good for avi files the folder that has the files audio-ts video-st are reddy to convert with shrink and the movie that is a avi use the program Avi2DVD convert it with that

    For your VIDEO_TS. If the file is not larger than 4300Mb, you can open Nero burning Rom, make DVD video, add the VIDEO_TS folder to your project and burn. If is larger, you can open DVD Shrink, then "Open Files" or Re-author, browse to where you have VIDEO_TS on your HDD and backup(set the target size to 4300Mb). When you get to choose the burn option, choose create ISO and burn with ImgBurn.
    For your Avi movies, use NeroExpress of avi2DVD to convert the movie to DVD format. For bin files I see you figured that out.

    I think you may have solved one of my biggest confusions- when I was reading two different things to burn video_ts. Some said to just burn it, others said I had to convert it to iso. So, that's only when it's over 4300mb? I don't think that's been explained to me before. That helps out alot, thanks so much for your advice.

    @josiepop
    You welcome!
    About the Video_Ts and ISO. You only have to convert to ISO, if you use a program that only burns ISO files,like DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn, to burn your dvds.
    If it is over 4300Mb, you can run it through DVD Shrink and make it smaller, and here, again, depending on your burning preferences you can make an ISO to burn with the above or make smaller V_TS and burn with whatever.
    P.S You only have Nero Vision Express, no Nero Burning Rom? With N Burning Rom you would not have to make the ISO. You would open the Video_Ts in Nero B.R and burn DVD video. I don't know if avi2DVD has a DVD burning engine, as I never used it.

    No, I don't have burning rom...I've read so much about it, but don't have it. Also, do you know if I have any alternatives to Avi2DVD? I have tried to make an iso twice and I get errors both times- plus, no iso file in my folder. It actually says its completed, but with errors. My movie is in 2 files, but I was just going to burn one on 1 dvd and the other on another, even though I read that you could actually interlace the 2 files together. Anyways, thank you *SO MUCH* for your help. I really do appreciate it.

    As an alternative to avi2DVD, I use Nero Vision or Winavi. Nero vision is slower for me, but better quality than Winavi. If I want speed, I use Winavi. If I want quality, or to be able to burn 2 movies and create a menu where I can choose which one i want to play, I use nero Vision.
    There are ways to join two avis but I never tried and I honestly not familiar with.

    About the ISO error that you get. What do you make the ISO with? DVD Shrink?

    I was using Avi2DVD, you know, where you check the make iso option. I never get an iso from it. I followed the directions you posted, but although I consider myself extremely computer literate, I feel like a total stooge when it comes to burning movies. The worst part is, once I manage to finally get a movie copied, I did so many things and used so many programs that I can't remember how to do it right again. I have been bookmarking sites that are helpful, but so many say different things about the same file types. I just want to stick to iso's!
