nero slows down

    hi.i m using nero 6 to burn dvd's... lately..wen i try to burn a avi file..i mean transcode it and burn as dvd-video disc.. when the conversioin starts remaining time is shown as the duration of the avi file..but after some time it shows like 15-16hours left..pls help..
    i m running xp..1gig ddr400mhz ram..3.0ghz p4, 2 X 120GB sata 7200rpm drives.. sony dru-810a riter !
    PLZ hELP !!
