I have searched the archives and found a partial response to my question, but not fully. I realize that I can download the Mpeg-4 codec for the purpose of converting some .avi files to Mpeg-2, but is there a specific place to store the Mpeg-4 codec? I need a Microsoft High-Speed MPEG-4V3 to convert certain files. Know where I can get it? I use TMPGEnc for the conversion process but am wanting to try VirtualDub as well. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Ask the Video forum, please. This is the wrong place for that, sorry.

(anyway: the codec are installed in the system. You don't "store" them. For most purposes you just need to install DivX 5 codec you can find at afterdarwn's main page)

topic closed (here. but you can post again in the Video forum)
