So far I have been nothing but pleased with RB and the final product's quality...however, there have been a couple of DVD's that I have backed-up that quality seems very poor (grainy, for lack of better terms), and the results seen from Recode are actually better when doing the exact same disc. The discs I have noticed this in are Matrix Reloaded, and Sex and the City Season 2 Disc 1 and 2. I'm using RB .96 Free with HC 0.17 on "best" setting. I have been trying to read up on AviSynth filters, would the Undot() filter help this problem? Is there a certain percentage of compression that you guys like to use this filter at? Both movies (full disc) are compressing down to low 60%. I also noticed the other options for AviSytn such as "remove interlacing" or "deinterlace with...", would either of these options help? As you can tell, I'm still new to the technical side of this, so please forgive my ignorance. Thanks ahead of time for all the help.

I wouldn't turn to filters as of yet!

the series disk is better done not using any sort of extra's reduction setting's because certain episodes will be considered as extra's in fact all episodes not in the one biggest vts file will be,as it's the file rebuilder will considered as the main movie!

both may very well be interleaved!
these segment's will not be encoded through rebuilder freeware version, thus leaving a lot of compression on the rest of the film!

undeen or I preffer fluxsmooth (pm UncasMS3) will address grainy video but you will get blockiness instead if indeed you are just dealing w/ extremely high compression rates due to interleaving or "episode reduction" setting's

my suggestion is if you like the quality of rebuilder on other films go pro!

    L8ter,

    Nice post my friend.

I'd bet you hit the nail on the head.

    I couldn't agree more.

I see...I didn't realize pro handles things differently than the free version. I thought that it simply added more bells and whistles...thanks for the input...looks like I'm going to have to muster up some money (kinda short right now, textbooks are a killer) and go Pro. How exactly do I do this...just PM Jdobbs?

Just open rb then click on the help tab then click on "make a donation". After you make the donation you will get an email with a link to dl rb pro.

Just checked my PM's, thanks for the info, truley appreciated. I made another back-up of Matrix Reloaded and it is burning as we speak, but I do have one question about Pro, how do I output to iso file? I see the option, but it isn't highlighted and will not let me choose it. I'm sure it is something I'm doing wrong.

click on mode then click on "output to ISO file". Click on mode again and there should be a checkmark next to "output to ISO file".

The option for iso was there, but I couldn't choose it. But I did the stand alone install....uninstalled, then used the installer and everything is working perfectly....thanks for all the help guys....lovin' this program more and more.
