I backed up T2 with RB free version, HC encocer 0.17 (latest) set on highest quality. It finished with no problems, but when I played it the video was suttering, sort of like it was playing it in slow motion except not as smooth. The audio was also stuttering. Any ideas?
I assume you are burning w/ nero or dvddecrypter give me a log for the burn and throw me a media id if you can! this sounds like a burn/media problem but to be sure give us details!
Im sorry I don't have the log anymore. I am burning with Nero 6.6, on Verbatim 16x media. My burner is a Sony DRU-700A, I always burn at 6x. After posting the first message, I tried compressing the same DVD with DVD Shrink and it worked fine, plays back fine. I've made many burns with this combination (this same media, Nero, DVD Shrink, DRU-700A) and never had a problem, so I think its something to do with DVD-RB. I don't know if this matters or not, but here are the settings I used in DVD-RB: HC Encoder Mode (Best quality) One-Click Mode All of the AVS options are UNchecked except MPEG2Source("source"idct=7) I was only working with the main movie; I had previously ripped it with Shrink without any compression.
try tipping it w/ decrypter did the video stutter the entire film or just certain segment's?is this on your stand-alone or dvd-rom? what kind of rig are you running and is this disk r1?is it the extreme edition that was recently released? I will try it out if your in r1 I think we can get someone if it's another region! give us all the details I assume you are fully @ default no half d1, when ripping are you removing any interlace or multi angle effect's and include your ini file if you are not sure if you have changed anything! this intrigues me in the nearly two years I've used rebuilder I've never had this problem
The video stuttered right from the start, I skipped ahead and every chapter I stopped at it was still stuttering. I tried it on two stand alone players, one cheap Magnanox, and the other a Daewoo. I've been able to play just about anything on these players in the past. Running a Dimension Desktop, 2.0GHZ P4, 768 DDR 2100. Yes this is the extreme edition, Region 1. I was working with the first title, which has 16 minutes of extra footage. The 2nd movie in the batch burned and played fine. I didn't check the "Disable interlaced" option, or Half D1. I dont think the free version has the option to remove multi angle. I tried this whole process two times, the first one as part of the batch mentioned above, the second time just by itself. The only difference between the two was that on the second one I removed a set of the subtitles (the ones that give you little facts about the film as you watch it). The first one (batch one) was actually better than the second, it was still stuttering but not as bad as the second one.
check this out is this the edition you own seems there are three different editions of this film if this is the one you are using then you are probably trying to encode the hd version! it say's that that it's 3x the resolution of a normal dvd video you may try to half d1 all extra's select each vts through avs advanced options! http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/content_provider/film/T2DVD.aspx the extra vts is probably the directors cut w/ comment's are both these files being encoded into one I would try the disable interlace option I will have to get the other p.c. set-up & go grab the disk to test it w/ you! your settings look good but do me one favor go into avs advanced options and under idct set it to decoder default the first setting or try the seventh option (skal) this may help these are the lowest settings I would go!
It wasn't that high-def version that I was trying to encode. That is seperate on disc 2. I was just trying to encode the main movie on disc one, just one title. And as I mentioned before I was able to compress this same title without any problems using Shrink. I do not have those AVS options on DVD-RB. Possibly those are only on the pro version?
I forgot you don't have those options you could alway's edit this entry to say "idct7Opt=0" this should set it to default! but as you are using the free version thsi may very well be an effect of it not handling the ilvu segment's of this video! I believe you have the disable interlace feature! personally I think the pro version would do the trick!
