    i have a sony camcorder.

everytime i save the video on my computer the quality is sooo low.

i tried changing frames per second and resolution.

is there a good program out there???

could this also be because of the type of cable i am using?

i am using mini usb cable.

i have option of DV out and A/V out.

    please help asap. urgent. thanks

Is the cable old? Maybee if you buy a new cable you will have better quality. If I'm wrong someone correct me.

Ozzy is correct. Use a firewire connection from the video camera to your computer, and capture as an .avi file. I believe that Sony references the cable as iLink.

If you connect via USB, most software will see your camera as a webcam, and the quality of what you capture will be junk. The USB connection is more for downloading stills.
