I just installed a Lite-On SHM165H6S burner. MY computer sees it as a burner, but does not appear to see it as a lightscribe burner. I have both Nero 7 and the upgraded Sure Thing CD/DVD Labeler installed. On both of these applications the options for printing with lighscribe do not appear for me. Also, in Nero, Under 'File' 'Options', the 'Lightscribe' tab is not there. I have upgraded to the latest firmware (Hs02). I'm running Win XP sp1, P4, 2.4, 1GB RAM. The only discs packaged with the burner were Nero 6, Power DVD 5 (which I have installed already), and a blank disc. What am I doing wrong?
Having the same problem with the same drive. When I first installed the drive, 2 days ago, the lightscribe feature was available in Nero6 and Surething. Then I made the mistake of upgrading to Nero7, after that lightscribe would error out and not load. I reinstalled Nero6 and surething, then lightscribe feature was no available. I have unistalled the software and cleaned registry several times. Reinstall nero6 or surething with no success. Upgraded firmware for drive, downloaded Ishostinstall.exe from HP, reinstalled XP Pro. Nothing has worked so far, still trying.
OK, thanks for letting me know. I also meant the new firmware I upgraded to was HS06, not 02. When I get a chance I'll try updating Nero 7 because I think there is an update. I'll also try emailing Lite-On and Nero, if possible. ..will try to post back in a few days.
