NEED SOME HELP WITH BIOS PLEASE!!!

(i am not sure if this is the right room if not i apoligise)

i have a winfast k7s 741 mg motherboard and when i start my pc and enter my bios i don't have many options just the general drive set-ups and things i need help on entering my bios which will allow me to change the speed of my processor because i have a 2.8ghz running at a 2ghz and i need to turn it up any help on getting to the proper bios would be really appreciated

there is no problem there

that motherboard is socket A... and there are no socket A processors that run @ 2.8GHz

im guessing that you have either an athlon or a sempron 2800 and were expecting it to be 2.8GHz well its not. its just 2GHz.. but it is the equivilant of an intel 2.8 which is why its called a 2800

 

well thanks so there is no way i can turn up the speed then???

 

you can overclock your processor if you really want to but you risk causing it damage, besides 2.0GHz is plenty enough speed to do nearly everything.

even if you do decide to overclock youll never get 2.8GHz out of it. its just not possible.

if you want to speed up your system get some more memory
id suggest 1 gig of memory would do you nicely

yes i have just upgraded my memory to 512 temporarily until i can be assed to buy some new memory lol but thanks for the tip
